About The Role
The role
We're looking to welcome a new team member into our Investment, Asset Management and Occupiers team at Associate or Senior Associate level. This opportunity sits within our nationally recognised Real Estate team, based in Birmingham, and offers the chance to work closely with our partners on a broad range of commercial property transactions. Our clients include property funds, offshore entities, national retailers and SMEs, and we pride ourselves on delivering clear, commercial advice that adds real value.
We're ideally seeking a qualified Solicitor with relevant real estate experience obtained at a large of medium sized firm. This role is particularly well-suited to someone who is confident, commercially aware and keen to build their own client relationships while contributing to the success of the wider team.
The team
Our Real Estate team is known for its technical excellence and commercial insight across all areas of property law, including development, investment, landlord and tenant, finance, litigation, planning and environmental. We work collaboratively across Gateley Legal and with our wider property businesses, Gateley Capitus, Gateley Hamer, RJA, Gateley Smithers Purslow and Gateley Vinden, giving us a unique edge in the market.

The person
This role would suit an Associate or Senior Associate with a minimum of 4 years' PQE and experience in the following areas:
Investment Sales and Acquisitions
You'll have experience supporting and perhaps running property investment transactions, including analysing due diligence, preparing title reports and advising on acquisitions and disposals. The ability to deliver succinct, commercially focused advice is key.
Asset Management / Landlord & Tenant
You'll be confident drafting leases, agreements for lease, licences and other asset management documentation. Experience acting for both landlords and tenants across sectors such as retail, office and industrial is highly desirable.
Corporate and Banking Support
You may have supported corporate transactions involving property elements, including negotiating property warranties and property disclosure. Experience acting for borrowers in property finance matters, including certificates of title, would be beneficial.
