Salary £35,235 - £39,513 Per Annum | Permanent, Full time| 37 hours per week

Our service

Cultural Services is a 'family' of services and includes a large library service (64 static libraries, 5 mobile libraries, 5 prison libraries, home library service and resources team), a museum service (6 museums, conservation studio and archaeological site), conservation service, heritage learning team, archive and family history service, music service and music hub, outdoor education service and cultural and information development. Cultural Services comprises of around 800 staff spread across the Lancashire County Council footprint.

Your new role...

This is a permanent fulltime 37hpw post based in Preston, working Monday to Friday -however some evening and weekend working is required.

The core tasks of this role are:

  • Contribute to the organisation, management and leadership of a progressive and inclusive service relating to literacy and reading for children and adults across Cultural Services.
  • Lead the development of innovative and engaging reading activities for children and adults.

We are currently working with greater flexibility and have a blended approach with attendance at an office base and working from home.

About you...

We are looking for someone who is a strong advocate for the benefits of reading and can bring these ideas into effective and engaging reading, writing and literacy projects. You will be committed to effective team working. You will have experience of working with a wide range of partners to develop, plan, deliver and evaluate projects. You will take the strategic overview for reading and literacy within Cultural Services working with colleagues to deliver high quality activities for children and adults.
