Sizewell C (SZC) invites you to join our team as our Head of Procurement Practice & Indirect to drive best practice, consistency of approach and lead SZC's approach to maximising social value through our procurement activity.

Location: Based in London, Suffolk, Bristol or Manchester, hybrid working arrangements, with travel to SZC sites as required.

What We Offer:

  • Salary of £90,000-£110,000 dependent on experience
  • Up to 10% bonus

As Head of Procurement Practice & Indirect, you will:

  • Champion Best Practice and Compliance: Ensure adherence to legislation and internal policies, and pioneer best-in-class procurement methodologies.
  • Inspire Professional Growth: Develop procurement talent across the organisation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with Purpose: Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, gaining their trust and support to implement best practice.
  • Deliver Social Value: Develop and execute a procurement strategy that delivers best value commercially while aligning with our social value and sustainability goals.
  • Lead with Vision: Develop and manage a high-performing Indirect Procurement team, setting ambitious targets and inspiring excellence.
  • Empower Through Training: Deliver engaging and practical procurement training to elevate the skills of SZC staff involved in procurement.

What We Require:

  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or equivalent experience
  • An excellent technical appreciation of procurement and procurement performance measurement
  • Expert knowledge of delivering social value through procurement
  • Private and Public sector experience

About Sizewell C

Sizewell C represents a transformative leap towards sustainable energy production in the UK. Once built, this nuclear power station located in Suffolk will generate enough low carbon electricity to supply over six million homes annually. By reducing carbon emissions by approximately nine million tonnes per year compared to traditional gas-fired plants, Sizewell C stands as a beacon of environmental responsibility and technological advancement.
