AWE are currently recruiting for a Radiological Waste Administrator.
Location - Reading / Basingstoke area
Package - £27,360 - £36,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

This role will be to manage the sentencing and recording of RA solid and non-aqueous RA Waste on behalf of AWE and ensure compliance with third party Waste Acceptance Criteria.
You will be required to:

Identify and assess any assay necessary to be undertaken to support RA waste sentencing.

Identifying new effective and efficient disposal opportunities for AWE RA waste materials, where appropriate.

Support the RA Waste Route Owner in optimising waste management services in line with regulatory and business requirements.

Governance of the creation, maintenance and secure storage of lifetime records associated with Radioactive Waste.

Identify waste suitability for external consignment via the LLWR/MOD framework contract.

Co-ordinate the construction of consignments within the Solid Radioactive Waste Management Record System database

Generate accurate waste consignment paperwork and review appropriate approvals from receiving sites prior to transporting RA Waste.

Generate and ensure waste and consignment containers are acceptable to destination site.

Ensure AWE remains within its Permits, Authorisations and allocations.
To be successful in this role you should have the following skills:

A good standard of basic education

Strong mathematical skills

Working knowledge of RA Waste Operations

Working knowledge of Nuclear Material transfers
