Quality Manager

Leicester

An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager to join the team at Galliford Try.

Ideally, you will be based in or around Leicester and will have opportunity to travel to Sites across the East Midlands Region.

What you will be doing:

  • Undertake Site Inspections of the works during construction and advise the Project Team on any quality or design detailing issues etc. Raise immediately with Project Manager and complete relevant site observation or NCR reports.
  • Assist with the review Supply Chain Inspection and Test Plans and support the Project Team in understanding the implications.
  • Assist the project teams with tracking and monitoring of all issued Non-Conformance Reports/Improvement Reports to ensure Corrective measures are actioned.
  • Assist with the monitoring of all Quality related activities on the projects and feedback back Non-Conformities and Areas for Improvement to the project team.
  • Assist the Project Teams to review "Quality Inspection Personnel Qualifications" and training requirements where applicable to specific build systems or products, such as CWCT.
  • Support the Project Team closing out client raised Quality issues.
  • Ensure the project Quality Management System (QMS) meets the GT Business Management System (BMS) and client requirements.
  • Conduct Quality Work Package Technical Reviews with the Project Teams, sub-contractors and suppliers prior to the commencement of their work.
  • Ensure sub-contractors and suppliers are aware of their quality requirements and identify, communicate and mitigate key risk areas.
  • Have a good working knowledge of industry standards national and international (SHW, EU Construction Products Regulations, Relevant British Standards and Testing Requirements).
  • Aid and provide guidance to subcontractors in developing and implementing quality plans, processes and Inspection & Test plans (ITP's).
  • Assist the site teams in producing ITP's and ensure they are implemented.
  • Produce project quality reports as required.
  • Encourage the promotion of a continuous improvement culture.

BMS compliance:

  • Policy for the procurement and usage of Field View.
  • Setting standards for Quality.
  • Support Factory visits to review manufacturing or production processes meet international and national standards.
  • Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.
  • Making suggestions for changes and improvements and how to implement them.
  • Undertake regular Production and Field View Audits - produce Audit Reports.

About You:

  • Considerable experience in Quality Management.
  • A Technical knowledge in the use of Field View.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Production of reports and initiatives of high quality and relevance to BU.
  • Good level computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite, MS Outlook, Ms Word and Ms Excel or similar.
  • Organised and methodical approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise various tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire the staff to support the role objectives.
