Job title: Quality Controller

Location: Samlesbury – onsite.

Salary: £47,683+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensuring operational compliance to specifications & quality standards e.g. ISO9001
  • Driving and supporting a reduction in non-conformance management activities with a zero-defect mindset
  • Supporting resolution of quality issues, using root cause analysis tools such as RCCA, 5 Whys, DMAIC, 8D, Six Sigma
  • Undertaking the identification and implementation of quality improvement activities agreed within the business area
  • Undertaking reviews and reporting on the efficiency and effectiveness of quality practices across the business area
  • The ability to influence key stakeholders to ensure the correct Quality practices are followed
  • Liaising with Customers and suppliers to ensure the zero-defect customer escapes strategy is understood and deployed
  • Demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving and must be able to build relationships and influence others at all levels of the organisation

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Quality or Engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good understanding of machining operations/tooling

Desirable:

  • Experience of using shop floor toolsets such as SFM/SAPCAMS, EDSRS
  • Experience dealing with internal and external customers
  • Knowledge of AS9100 rev D

The FCAS Quality team:

As a Quality Controller you will be delivering a broad range of planned quality activities designed to provide assurance to management that quality practices are being effectively deployed across the business area.

This will involve working closely with our Operations and Engineering teams to ensure that the products we manufacture meet customer and regulatory requirements. Ensuring Quality Standards are maintained to the satisfaction of internal and external Customers. Undertake review and reporting on the efficiency and effectiveness of quality practices across the business area. Provide guidance, advice and support on all quality related matters.
