Job Description

The Quality Assurance Manager interfaces with internal teams in a fast-paced environment to review a wide variety of pre-production text and art files in a timely manner. Primary responsibilities include maintaining the visual and technical quality of our products and complying with the standards of our Licensors across multiple brands within Fanatics' professional Sports and Entertainment portfolio. The QA Manager is responsible for overseeing and prioritizing the workload for a team of QA Proofreaders and Licensing Administrators.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Proofread and copy edit raw trading text for grammar, spelling, company style and Licensor requirements.
• Review composed files for file integrity, design consistency, image quality, text formatting and printing plate registration.
• Examine intermediate stages of proofs, to ensure that requested revisions (by Quality Assurance, internal teams or Licensors) have been accurately applied.
• Check imposition and perform final review of imposed card & sticker sheets released to press.
• Inspect packaging art files, to ensure accuracy of information presented to consumer, based on internal content documents, legal guidelines, and Bills of Materials.
• Communicate with Licensors to establish and maintain ever-evolving guidelines on the presentation (or prohibition) of certain copy and design elements, beyond the issued Style Guides and aim to reduce changes needed late in the production process.
• Work with the Brand team and licensors to develop comprehensive approvals documents as required to communicate key information relating to submissions
• Inform QA/Brand team members of any new or revised procedures, rules or standards, whether instituted by Topps, or made at the request of Licensor
• Issue judgments on whether corrections made at later stages (2nd proof, imposed round) need to be made, or may be stetted in the interest of cost involved to fix, or delay in the product schedule
• Divide and oversee workload of three Quality Assurance Proofreaders to ensure timely and accurate reviews.
• Oversee team of licensing coordinators responsible for approvals processes with Fanatics partners.

Qualifications:

• Outstanding attention to textual and graphic detail, and ability to incorporate extensive Licensor style guides.
• Mastery of English (U.S. and King's) grammar.
• Flexibility to adapt to variable styles and requirements of assorted Sports (primarily UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, Formula 1) and Entertainment (Star Wars, Disney) properties.
• General knowledge and familiarity with sports and pop culture terminology, jargon, and vernacular.
• Multi-tasking capability to manage assignments across multiple projects, and maintain priorities within a steady daily workflow.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, web browser-based interfaces, and Macintosh OS.
• Experience in managing a team in terms of leadership, guidance and prioritization.
• Bachelors degree or equivalent in related field preferred.
