QUALIFYING MANAGER WITH NOTTINGHAM CITY COUNCIL

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours

Worker Type: Mobile

Salary: Starting Salary is £36,298 (Level one) rising to £39,493 (Level four) per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Location: Eastcroft Depot, London Road, Nottingham, NG2 3AH

About the Role

This position will allow the successful candidate to undertake high quality electrical inspections and testing for Nottingham City Council. You will be responsible for detailed documentation and records that will ensure that the Nottingham Council remains accredited as required by governing bodies.

You may be required to supervise staff or colleagues within their team and you may be required to cost estimations for complex work.

Introductory information

The successful candidate will be organised and enthusiastic with drive, determination, and a strong emphasis on excellent customer service with an interest in problem solving, using your initiative, attention to detail and the ability to work with others. Within the role, you will:

  • Understand and apply the principles, practices and legislation for the testing and certification as directed by the Electrical Team Leader.
  • Ensure that the authority is compliant with all legislation relating to testing and inspection.
  • Ensure that all of the authority's inspection and testing operations are carried out safely and in accordance with the authorities Health & Safety Policy.
  • Ensure that test equipment, documentation and records are available for inspection when required.
  • Ensure that management are informed of any non-conformance immediately.
  • Undertake both planned and reactive works on an ongoing basis as directed by the electrical team leader.
  • Attend meetings internally and externally to discuss any issues surrounding inspection, testing and certification.
  • Understand the inspection, testing verification, certification and reporting procedure for the range of electrical work undertaken for the authority.
  • Carry out daily inspections to ensure they are fit for purpose and report and deal with any defects that are reported to you.
  • Undertake manual handling of construction materials including lifting, uploading, stacking, levelling and compacting, in line with training and manual handling operations regulations.
  • Organise work schedules based on the work orders.

About You

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering and have significant relevant experience.
  • Recognised as a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor.
  • Understand the inspection, testing, verification, certification of electrical installations or equivalent.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislations and regulations.
  • Detailed knowledge of certification software.
