Purchasing Director

The Purchasing Director will form part of our Liquidline's board of directors, and will oversee the procurement / purchasing strategy and processes within the organisation to deliver exceptional customer service in the most effective and efficient manner. The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies for improving the efficiency of our supply chain, mitigating risk and ensuring key partners are meetings their performance objectives. They will also be heavily involved in improving our partnerships and negotiations on price agreements.
The Role - Purchasing Director
- To support with Liquidline's strategic vision by orchestrating, optimising and championing supply chain and purchasing activities, aiming to elevate our operating profit.
- To fuel innovation by utilising supply chain knowledge and industry insights.
- To work closely alongside the Head of Purchasing to take ownership or preparing annual purchasing budgets, setting of cost savings targets and end to end delivery of savings.
- To implement, track and analyse key metrics to inform on risk management.
- To provide leadership to the team, coaching, mentoring and supporting them through their development.
- To have a clear focus on continuous improvement and optimise our current processes across all supply chain activities within the UK, including cross-functional processes.
- To lead on efficient stock holding by reference to demand, product lead time, stock turn ratios and to work to remove the risk of stock outages.
What You Will Need in the Role of Purchasing Director
- Advance knowledge of MS Office and internal CRM Systems.
- Solid working experience of negotiating at senior level within a B2B setting, and experience of managing teams.
- Experience in demand planning and stock forecasting is essential for this position.
- Demonstrable experience in strategic supply chain leadership, with the ability to deliver effective strategies, policies and processes.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiastic to keep up to date with industry changes, and company knowledge.
