Puffin Community Manager, Penguin Random House Children's

We have an exciting opportunity for a Puffin Community Manager to join the Penguin Random House Children's Marketing team.

Do you have experience in engaging communities in the world of children's media? Do you have a passion for the role brands can play in the lives of families? Do you believe in the power of community to drive brand affinity? If you have community engagement experience and are looking for a new challenge, this could be the role for you!

Our creativity is inspired by different perspectives, so we strive for our culture to be one of belonging, where everyone feels welcome and where differences are celebrated. We want to work with a wide range of talent as we find new ways to tell our stories. That is where you come in. You don't have to come from a publishing background or have a degree to be considered - we want to hear from different voices and see fresh perspectives.

Puffin is one of the strongest global brands in the publishing world, creating stories that spark imaginations. Publishing stories for children aged 0-12, Puffin is home to famous authors, illustrators, and children's brands, including Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Jacqueline Wilson, Malorie Blackman, Tom Fletcher and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Stories for every child, everywhere.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Building engaged audiences through strong community management
  • Identify and engage with influencers and micro influencers, building and driving relationships with like-minded individuals
  • Maximising opportunities created by the wider Brand, PR and Marketing team to generate and repurpose engaging content for our social channels
  • Gauging consumers' views of Puffin and plotting this sentiment over time, utilising reporting tools and feeding back to the rest of the Brand, Marketing, and PR team
  • Social Customer Service: responding to consumer queries in a manner in line with the Puffin brand tone of voice and characteristics

Candidate profile:

  • Proven audience-engagement experience through a minimum of 1-2 years of community management, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders and communicating strategies.
  • Effective time and project management skills, including working across multiple projects
  • An effective decision maker with a proactive approach and ability to lead by example.
  • A strong understanding of how to engage family audiences.
  • Broad market awareness within children's media, brand and within marketing.

Please submit your CV and a Cover Letter telling us why you are the right person for the role by midnight on Sunday 28th April.

First round interviews will take place w/c 13th May, with an interview task.
