What you'll be doing
In this pivotal role within our Public Affairs team, you will report to the Head of European and Healthcare Public Affairs and work closely with the Head of Corporate and Retail Public Affairs as well as various internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise will help shape our public policy positions and communicate our priorities effectively across the UK political landscape.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and manage UK political and policy developments, advising on potential business impacts.
- Support the development and communication of public policy positions across Corporate, Retail, Healthcare, and Community agendas.
- Prepare high-quality written materials for internal and external audiences, including briefing papers and reports.
- Attend external events and meetings, representing Boots and building relationships with political stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to promote Boots' agenda and ESG activities to political audiences.
What you'll need to have (our must-haves)
- Strong understanding of and interest in the UK political landscape and public policy issues.
- Proven ability to run political stakeholder engagement programmes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs.
- Proven ability to network and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, confident self-starter with strong project management skills.
- Significant experience in a Public Affairs or Policy role (in house or in agency)
It would be great if you also have
- Experience in UK healthcare and/or retail policy.
- Parliamentary experience is desirable but not essential.
