Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed

Job overview

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will lead the psychosocial team to deliver evidenced based psychosocial group interventions that promote recovery for service users in custody. You will supervise and line manage B5 staff and Support workers whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team of health and wellbeing professionals, deliver high quality services to service users

As part of the Healthcare Team you will provide healthcare to those in custody, whilst working flexibly to meet the changing needs of the services across Primary Care, Integrated Substance Misuse & Mental Health. You will also contribute to an on-going programme of development to ensure high standards of patient care are maintained, whilst fostering effective working relationships with prison colleagues and other stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

This post is key to the development and delivery of high quality, evidence based health and wellbeing services to give prisoners access to interventions and support equitable to those provided by the NHS in the community.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Current knowledge of substance misuse issues
  • Evidence of having studied at Degree level in relevant area or professional Qualification Nurse, Social Worker etc.

Desirable criteria

  • Recognised qualification in delivery of Psychotherapeutic Interventions

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Substantial experience of working in substance misuse or with offenders
  • Demonstrable experience in a supervisory/management role
