About the roleAs one of the Safety Support and Implementation Managers for the Partnership you will be accountable to deliver both proactive and reactive support services for health and safety within the Partnership’s Property Team. This role will work closely with the Property’s Leadership Team to provide safety assurance and specialist property safety expertise.
This role will be the face of health and safety for Property working directly with, and supporting Property Partners on a day to day basis and will require extensive stakeholder management.
As a subject matter expert you will be a critical business partner to the Property Team providing expert advice and support across all areas of safety. You will manage investigations into Property related incidents and provide support in emergency situations.
You will support the management and continuous improvement of the Partnership’s central safety management system (including the safety management manual) relevant to Property.
You will represent the Health and Safety Team on Property steering groups as required and will liaise directly with democratic bodies across the Partnership to ensure that you are aware of and responsive to Partner sentiment in particular around health and safety in Property.
This role requires you to be on call (on a rota basis) in order to provide emergency safety response 24/7 for all JLP sites.

Full Partnership salary range - £57,100 - £90,000

Expected salary - Up to £70,000

Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The Health and Safety team aims for around 1 day a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings.

Location - This role is based at our London Head Office campus in Pimlico. This role requires you to be on call (on a rota basis) in order to provide emergency safety response 24/7 for all JLP sites.

FYI - A full Clean driving licence is required for this role. Your business mileage will be reimbursed.

Key responsibilities

Influence senior stakeholders across the organisation through both personal subject matter expertise and wider industry knowledge to drive change across all directorates to ensure that health and safety is key criteria for decision making.

Ensure improvement programmes are targeted to all relevant business areas to this role. Ensure the appropriate governance is in place (including democratic channels) and chair groups where appropriate.

Identify current and emerging safety issues. Develop plans to manage these trends and adapt our capability accordingly.

Support the Property Team to develop solutions which makes it easy to be safe and work with the managers across the Partnership to ensure that safety is included in any design activity as required.
Crisis Management:

Similar to other L6s in the team, you will deputise when required for the Health and Safety Lead and provide safety subject matter expertise if required to the Silver crisis team, ensuring that all actions taken by the Partnership are thought through and lead to a successful conclusion of the event.
Essential skills/experience you’ll need

NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent
-
May hold or work towards either CMIOSH, MIIRSM or equivalent status.

Sound working safety knowledge and experience of working within facilities management or closely with Property Teams.

Sound working knowledge and experience of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

Subject Matter Expertise in health, safety and safety quality management systems (ISO 45001)

Results orientated and comfortable communicating at all levels of seniority within a large organisation.

Flexible, adaptable and able to work work well under pressure in a dynamic environment

Externally networked and aware of industry trends

Experience working in retail and/or supply chain

A full clean driving licence
Desirable skills/experience you may have

Project management qualification (eg. Prince 2).
