Property Planning and Programme Manager

We are looking to appoint a Property Planning and Programme Manager to lead the planning and delivery of property programmes across Tesco Ireland, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. The role also ensures consistent store design in line with planning principles, while problem-solving new and complex projects to meet evolving business needs.

You will be responsible for

  • Strategic Store Planning: Head the development of all store formats and layouts to enhance business growth and operational efficiency.
  • New Space Programme Management: Coordinate the management and maintenance of the new space programme, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Forecast Phasing Contribution: Collaborate with finance and the wider property team to support accurate phasing of forecasts.
  • Alignment to Long-Term Plan (LTP): Ensure all planning activities and space strategies are aligned with the company's long-term vision and strategic goals.
  • Develop Standards & Planning Principles: Champion and embed consistent development standards and planning principles across all property initiatives.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve planning and programme-related challenges with innovative and practical solutions.
  • Team Management: Supervise and assist the Tesco Business Services (TBS) teams engaged in property planning and project implementation.
  • Transition & Process Improvement: Lead transition opportunities and drive continuous improvement in planning processes and tools.
  • Reporting & Dashboards: Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards to provide visibility and insights into programme performance.

You will need

  • Educational Background: Degree or equivalent experience in Property or a related field is preferred.
  • Retail Store Experience: Hands-on experience in store operations or retail environments.
  • Spatial Awareness: Strong understanding of space utilisation, layout optimisation, and customer flow.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated capability in collaborating across different teams and with external collaborators.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Problem Solving: Analytical attitude with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Ownership: Demonstrates accountability and initiative in driving ideas from concept to execution.
