The Business Services department covers the professional support services that enable all East Sussex County Council's services to plan, manage and deliver their services to residents.
As part of the property contracts team, you will manage Senior Contract Officers and the business support officer, taking lead responsibility for all aspects of performance management and to ensure cohesive working and high-quality outcomes. You will deliver and manage the County Council schools and non-school's contracts for Facilities Management (FM). These contracts include grounds, trees, catering, cleaning, security, pest control, Caretaker Advisory Service, Swimming Pool testing and waste management. You will also be the first point of contact for disputes and manage contractual issues. You will lead on measurement and reporting on performance of Services to Schools contractors and assist in the development and implementation of the Service to Schools contract management plan. Effectively manage budget resources across the service provision within an appropriate governance and risk management framework. Help team members understand their goals and strive to deliver outstanding results
To lead on the development of supply chain management within the given Service area. Provide clear direction and lead, coach and motivate. Identify issues, trends and opportunities that may have an impact in their area of responsibility to enable appropriate action to be taken. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the project, including producing and disseminating statistics on a regular basis. Contribute to the achievement of the annual performance targets for the designated project Complying with Data. Assist the FM Services Manager in the development of policy, and to ensure policies and operations are maintained and adhered to. lead on the development of consistent approaches to contract management across Hard and Soft FM
We are looking for candidates who have the below:
- Has awareness of the strategies and resources they need to manage their own stress and are able to identify ways of enabling resilience among staff, taking into account their diverse needs.
- Maintains their own learning and development and supports team in identifying and accessing work-based learning opportunities.
- Significant knowledge of the principles of contract management, change management, project management and continuous improvement.
- Experience of public or private sector procurement or contract management

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
