Location: Sheffield, Barrow or Bristol – both part-time & full-time positions available. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £47,017+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identify assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Applies appropriate PM methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Agrees project approach with stakeholders, and prepares realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and tracks activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate
  • Lead a small project or a work package of a larger project
  • Perform advanced project reporting & scheduling
  • Manage the full project lifecycle to ensure that, over time, the needs of customers/users continue to be met, and that financial and other benefits are achieved
  • Consolidate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Degree level educated or commensurate industry experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of PM policies, processes, procedures and systems

  • Ability to apply advanced problem-solving techniques

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret information to inform solution development and implementation strategies

  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to influence and engage both internal and external stakeholders

Desirable:

  • APM qualified

  • Experience within a defence or engineering industry

As part of BAE Systems Platforms and Services sector, Weapon Systems (UK) designs, develops, manufactures, and supports artillery systems, naval guns, and provides engineering capability to the wider BAE Systems business. Our global reach brings our customers a depth and breadth of expertise that meet critical needs in the air, on land, and at sea.

You will be joining our business at an exciting time – we’re expanding rapidly and growing from a single-site operation to a multi-site, including a brand-new production facility in Sheffield. We have some great opportunities for project management professionals across our sustainment production and R&D (research and development) programmes.
