Do you want to help shape the future of adult social care in East Sussex? This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-profile workforce projects that support recruitment, retention, staff experience and future workforce planning - making a real difference to the people who deliver vital care and support every day.

We are looking for a creative, organised and proactive Project Manager to join our Training, Workforce and Organisational Development team. The team supports staff across Adult Social Care and leads the ambitious Workforce 2030 Programme. This role will play a key part in co-ordinating and delivering workforce projects linked to the Adult Social Care Workforce Board, including recruitment and retention, workforce campaigns, future workforce planning and initiatives that support both our internal workforce and the wider care market.

You will be joining at an exciting time, through the Workforce 2030 Programme we are developing practical, people-focused work that responds to some of the biggest challenges facing adult social care like attracting and keeping great people, supporting staff wellbeing and engagement, strengthening leadership and management and preparing for the future workforce we will need. This role offers the chance to be right at the centre of that work, turning ideas into action and helping services make evidence-based decisions that improve outcomes for staff, services and the people we support.

You will develop detailed project plans, work with senior stakeholders and partners, support new and innovative recruitment campaigns, use evidence and data to monitor impact, produce reports and business cases, and present updates to relevant boards and groups, including the Departmental Management Team.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have strong organisational and co-ordination skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Can analyse and present complex information clearly, both verbally and in writing, including preparing reports for a range of stakeholders.
  • Are confident working with multiple stakeholders, including internal departments, external partners and service users, and can influence without direct authority.
  • Have experience of programme or project management or project support, including knowledge of project management methods, risk identification and governance.
  • Understand the public sector and can demonstrate a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

This role supports hybrid working, with a minimum expectation of one day per week in the office in Lewes. There is flexibility around working arrangements, and you will be welcome to spend more time in the office if you prefer regular face-to-face collaboration with colleagues.
