Project Manager - Transformation & Efficiency

You will make a difference as a Project Manager by leading key projects for the Council. Working within the Transformation and Efficiency team you will drive change and improvement across the organisation ensuring value for money, organisational improvement and performance management improvement are sought.

What will you be doing?

  • On a daily basis you will lead and implement projects and ensure that change initiatives are implemented across the Directorate/s.
  • You will provide sound expertise, advice and information to a range of customers throughout the Council.
  • In the role you will research and analyse opportunities for innovation and to establish new efficient and effective ways of working ensuring that council activity is lawful.
  • Driving and directing areas relating to service delivery, you will make sure that planned objectives are met, ensuring that reports and statutory returns are completed in a timely, accurate way.
  • You will also ensure that changes in policy and working practices are communicated so that customers receive prompt, accurate policy updates and risk registers are maintained.

What we need from you

  • It is essential that you have a relevant professional qualification, degree or equivalent specialist Project Management qualification.
  • You will have the experience and credibility to build relationships and engage successfully with customers and partners within other local authorities, using you highly tuned negotiation and influencing skills.
  • We require you to have considerable experience of project management methodologies and systems, including current trends and approaches.
  • You must have excellent time management skills and have substantial management experience in leading and developing a team.
  • You will demonstrate an ability to respond to changing demands and managing priorities to meet deadlines.
