Project Manager (Sewer Networks)

Do you have proven experience in project management and have a civil engineering degree or similar? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join our Sustainable Operations and Engineering team as a Project Manager responsible for leading the delivery of sewerage, water, design and construction projects.

We welcome applicants from across our region, and can accommodate accordingly within our offices across Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire.
What you'll do

You will be responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of projects through optioneering, design, construction and commissioning to quality, time and cost objectives.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for:

  • leading projects to ensure completion within safety, time, quality and cost parameters.
  • maintaining control of multiple, complex and evolving multi-disciplinary projects at various stages of delivery.
  • building and maintaining working relationships with commercial partners, customers and third-party organisations throughout the project delivery process, whilst maintaining commercial control.
  • ensuring effective and efficient resource management.
  • leading on contract negotiations to deliver best value.
  • delivering up to £50 million worth of projects over a five-year period.
  • enabling improved project solutions leading to cost reductions and improved health and safety.
  • undertaking project reviews and audits to promote ongoing quality and procedural improvements.

What you'll need

You will be an experienced Project Manager used to managing the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects, preferably in the water or utilities industry. You will be used to managing the full project life cycle from concept, through to design and construction to the commissioning of engineering projects.

In addition, you will:

  • be educated to degree level in civil engineering or have equivalent experience.
  • have a working knowledge of health and safety and CDM regulations.
  • have construction management experience both office-based and on-site.
  • have good planning and organisational skills with effective decision-making.
  • have the ability to present confidently to non-industry people.
  • have the ability to organise yourself, individuals and teams, motivating all towards achieving the successful completion of projects.
  • have a CSCS Contract Management card or equivalent.
