Role overview

As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of the governance of multiple projects, developing a full project plan and proactively managing the project against this on a day-to-day basis. You will keep our clients advised of the process and progress against the plan, ensuring we consistently deliver what we promise, when we say we will and to the highest possible standards.

This role will offer hybrid working from the office 3 days a week and the rest from home.

What will I be doing?

  • Effectively managing concurrent projects, planning resources, monitoring progress and the use of resources and early identification of where necessary to ensure all milestones are met under the oversight/guidance of a project Director.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Client Services function to ensure proactive and effective communication is maintained through the project lifecycle.
  • Following predefined project management processes, using the standardised templates for delivery.
  • Providing regular updates to the Project Director (PD) throughout the PMO project process, identifying and providing solutions to the PD of any project risks, identifying appropriate contingency plans and solutions, identifying and obtaining support and advice required to ensure the successful management, planning and control of the project.
  • Working with other Project Managers to ensure awareness of potential interdependencies with other projects and their impact to optimise workflow and maximise time and talent across multiple teams.
  • Responding appropriately, knowledgeably and in a timely fashion to client queries.
  • Managing the project financials including the creation of cost and production schedules, reviewing time and project costs, and ensuring invoices are raised in the timescale required. It is expected that you will work with your Project Director and/or the Delivery Director in review the efficiency of any project and creating solutions to improve delivery.
  • Supporting the development of the Project management processes, identifying improvements/solutions to client challenges, conducting a post-project wash up and post implementation review with clients to help drive continuous improvement and preparing any recommendations and follow on actions required.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Strong project management skills
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills working accurately under pressure, demonstrating a logical and methodical approach to effectively managing workloads
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a logical and efficient way of thinking
  • Meticulous attention to detail ensuring all work meets the quality standards of Karian and Box
  • Effective communication skills, able to build effective relationships internally, with clients and key stakeholders.
  • High level of competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Relevant project management qualification e.g. Prince2 is desirable
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects with proficiency in stakeholder relationship management
  • Understanding of employee engagement and the market we operate in
