Job Description
The Opportunity
You will play a key role in supporting our people technology team in the delivery of new applications and major upgrade projects across the UK and Ireland.
You will be instrumental in helping deliver our priorities in the people technology part of our Information technology department from conception through to completion and support in delivery of People technology roadmap items.
What will my accountabilities be?
- Project Management Services to deliver end-to-end (approved projects)
- Project Initiation phase - Identify the scope, high-level timelines, forecast the budget for delivery, run-costs and benefits and resource requirements
- Project planning phase - Identify task level plan and ensure commitments from required resources, engagement with relevant teams, complete requirements and design and prepare all artefacts to commence development and testing.
- Project build and testing phase - Complete all artefacts in line with governance process and ensure viable product ready for deployment to end-users.
- Delivery of the project end to end
- Working with McDonald's resource and chosen third parties
- Managing the project RAID log
- Adhering to change control process as and when required
- Managing the project budget
- Ensuring tasks assigned to project resource is completed
- Ensuring all deliverables adhere to McDonald's governance process
What Team will I be a part?
You will be part of the People Technology team within IT/HR supporting the People Technology team. The team includes technical and functional specialists that are passionate about ensuring that features are developed and delivered with high quality and meet market's needs and expectations. You will work closely with the team delivering project management services for approved projects.
Who are my customers?
- Business project sponsors & business partners
- IT Department Senior Leadership Team, Head of Test, Architecture, PMO and Business Analysis, Service and Support
- The IT project delivery team made up of Project Managers, Portfolio Managers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, Test team
- External - Suppliers and Vendors of Specialist project related services
Qualifications
What background do I need to have?
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy; self-starter
- Strong communication skills - written, verbal and excellent presentation skills
- Computer Literate- Sophisticated Excel & PowerPoint. Project Management software experience is desirable
- Comfort and experience working in a fast paced and changing working environment
- Experience and an ability to think outside of the box to tackle problems • Facilitate others adapt in complicated circumstances or during periods of change
- Work with energy and passion and encourage the same in others • Excellent interpersonal skills, curious mind set, confident, independent and logical problem solver
- Capable of analysing and interpreting information and data
- Experience in HR/Payroll/People Technology is desired
