About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced New Build Housing Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a wide range of new build housing and refurbishment projects on behalf of Nottingham City Council (NCC). From garage site redevelopments to large-scale mixed-tenure housing schemes, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard, with a particular focus on project viability and feasibility, ensuring that the correct sites are chosen for development/regeneration across Nottingham City.

Acting as the client representative, you will lead projects from inception to final account, adhering to NCC procedures and the requirements of external funding authorities. Your role will involve undertaking viability studies, coordinating internal teams and external consultants, setting and managing budgets, establishing project objectives, and fulfilling all statutory duties including CDM regulations.

About You

You will be a confident, organised, and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in delivering residential construction or housing development projects. You'll combine technical acumen with leadership skills to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders effectively.

We're looking for someone who brings:

  1. Proven experience managing housing development or construction projects from inception to completion from small-scale redevelopment of garage sits to large scale mixed tenure housing developments.
  2. Strong knowledge of housing development processes, feasibility assessments, Option Appraisals and project budgeting
  3. Experience of preparing scheme risk management strategies - developing and maintaining dynamic project risk registers to effectively manage risks.
  4. A clear understanding of CDM regulations and the ability to act as the client under those regulations
  5. Experience working within local authority or public sector frameworks (desirable but not essential)
  6. A relevant professional qualification, degree or proven experience in construction, project management, or housing development

Please ensure you demonstrate clearly how you meet the 6 requirements outlined above in your CV & supporting document.
