Project Manager (contractor inside IR35)

Safran Engineering Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our team as a contractor on an Inside IR35 basis. This role is responsible to run a project to prove the production capability of the C919 program.

The Project Manager will work closely with Production and Engineering teams to define the strategy and implement improvements that will allows the Burnley site to deliver to an increasing customer demand.

Weekly updates are to be presented to Marque Industrial, Manufacturing and Engineering managers, to the UAP leader on a monthly basis and CODI on a quarterly basis. This report will consist of a presentation of the project and have all required data to back up any comments, decisions made.

The Project Manager will have full support from the UAP to allow for a successful project implementation.

Main activities will be:

• Ensure that standard times / lead times in the manufacturing system are accurate
• Understand any difference between standard and demonstrated lead times
• Review the required resource and it will be available when required
• Review the product flow to remove bottlenecks in the manufacturing process.
• Review the level of QNs and timescales for QN completion is managed within the schedule
• Perform BOOST tests where suitable / required to prove ability of production drum beat adherence
• Review asset reliability and have in place BCPs (Business Continuation Plans), for any deemed at risk
• Regularly review with UAP function heads to ensure all aspects are under control (Supply Chain, Production, Engineering and Quality)
• With support from Configuration Manufacturing Engineers, review HpU (Hours per Unit), QNs and Lead-time on a regular basis to ensure any changes to the norm are captured, understood and handled
• Ensure there is enough infrastructure, resource, tooling and storage space for running at rate

Requirements

This role will require both shop floor and office working and as this is a production-based role, there will be some flexibility required and expected at certain times to fit in with the production working times, for example if boost tests are required.
