2 x Full Time (37.5 hours) Project Manager Posts within Cancer Services on a fixed term 12 month basis.

The Cancer Services Team have a unique opportunity to make a real difference to cancer patients across the area. As part of this work we are recruiting to cancer transformation roles to support the transformation of cancer pathways and supportive cancer care for all people affected by cancer.

You will be working within The James Paget University Hospital to drive through the transformation of cancer care for local patients. The role will require you to work closely with a number of organisations and partners as part of a team transforming cancer services for patients in our area.

You will be playing a key role in supporting the Norfolk and Waveney ICS to deliver transformational change in cancer and the local improvement plan as agreed with the East of England Cancer Alliance Board.

You will be communicating widely across the ICS foot-print and the rest of the East of England with many different stakeholders including clinical teams, Public Health, patient representatives and CCG personnel involved in the Cancer Alliance and ICS work programme.

Main duties of the job

The role will work at both a strategic and operational level to develop robust project plans, this will be accomplished through personally leading work but also supporting teams within specialities to deliver on plans.

The project(s) may be clinical or non-clinical and cover a variety of deliverables, including operational performance, financial performance, service issues and clinical quality improvement.

Working for our organisation

The Cancer Services Project Manager will play a key role in a number of projects across cancer services and will work closely with the Lead Cancer Nurse and the Clinical teams who provide cancer services by providing project management leadership to nursing and medical clinicians to develop and implement the Norfolk and Waveney ICS (Integrated Care System) Cancer Services Transformation Programme both within the hospital and in Norfolk and Waveney.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The main purpose of this post is to manage and deliver the objectives of the East of England Cancer Alliance Delivery Plan. The post holder will need to work closely with the Cancer Services Lead, Cancer Services Manager, Cancer Lead Nurse and Departmental Teams across the JPUH, ensuring effective prioritisation and delivery of the key objectives. This role will be situated on the JPUH site, with travel or teleconferencing to other sites, as required.

  • Degree or significant experience in Project Management

Experience and knowledge

  • Experience of managing projects through the full project lifecycle
  • Experience of Project Management including planning, implementation and report writing
  • Experience of presenting to a wide range of Audiences

Essential criteria

  • Highly developed organisational and planning ability
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills across a wide spectrum of staff groups
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills
