Project Manager - Digital Infrastructure

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the team at Galliford Try within our Digital Infrastructure Business.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead a regional team on a high-value telecommunications infrastructure project. As a Project Manager, you will take full operational and commercial responsibility from project award through to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality, service, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality

  • Enforce compliance with HSEQ legislation and company policies.
  • Ensure all resources meet the required HSEQ competency and training levels.
  • Monitor HSEQ performance and take corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain high standards for customer satisfaction.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation.

Financial and Commercial

  • Maximise turnover and profit in line with the Business Plan and Budget.
  • Optimise cash flow according to the Business Plan and Budget.
  • Ensure adherence to the company's commercial and financial reporting systems.

Communication

  • Foster a teamwork culture through motivation and leadership.
  • Communicate the company's BU objectives and action plans effectively.
  • Maintain appropriate communication levels with internal functions and stakeholders.

Procedural

  • Implement and maintain company policies and procedures as outlined in the Business Process Manual.
  • Ensure project-specific procedures driven by the client are followed.
  • Uphold discipline on all projects in accordance with Employment Conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's CSR and carbon reduction policies.

Resource Management

  • Ensure resource levels are adequate to deliver the project in line with the sector budget and forecasts.
  • Plan, recruit, coordinate, and develop staff and operatives to meet current and future workloads.

About You:

  • Extensive experience within the construction/telecommunications industries and knowledge of relevant standards.
  • Security clearance to DV (preferred) or SC level (minimum).
  • Previous experience on large-scale defence/MoD projects.
  • Strong ability to establish collaborative working relationships.
  • Excellent team player.

About the Team

Galliford Try's Digital Infrastructure business works predominantly within the UK's Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) market, focusing on the Telecommunications, Defence, Energy, Water and Transport sectors. We deliver national projects and multi-site frameworks through our specialist knowledge and vast experience in the acquisition, planning, design and delivery processes.

Through a recent a transformation, leveraging its 30 plus years of experience, a new strategy has been developed by the business as part of our updated Sustainable Growth Strategy, targeting growth in adjacent and emerging markets such as core networks, private networks, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and renewable energy, while maintaining and strengthening our existing operations and capabilities around wireless telecoms networks and defence/sensitive projects. Galliford Try's Digital Infrastructure business provides property access and installation of telecoms infrastructure for the Radio Access Network market, expanding into sectors such as defence and private 5G networks, which are becoming a growing market as IT security becomes increasingly important.
