About The Company
A leading commercial fit-out contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Small Works division. This team delivers high-quality CAT A, CAT B and Shell & Core projects for blue-chip clients, professional services firms and landlords. The role requires someone who can confidently manage multiple fast-paced schemes at once, uphold exceptional delivery standards and represent the business with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Manage several small works projects concurrently, typically ranging from rapid-turnaround refurbishments to structured CAT A/B packages.
- Oversee delivery from pre-start through to handover, ensuring programme, quality and client expectations are consistently met.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to maintain smooth project flow.
- Lead site meetings, produce progress reports and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Ensure design information is coordinated, accurate and aligned with client requirements.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Take full ownership of project budgets, cost control, variations and valuations.
- Work closely with commercial teams to protect margin and maintain financial clarity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track and profitable.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all works comply with H&S legislation and internal procedures.
- Conduct site inspections, review RAMS and maintain safe working environments.
- Promote a positive safety culture across all sites.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring a smooth delivery experience.
- Manage expectations proactively and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
- Deliver projects that reinforce the company's reputation for quality and reliability.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering commercial fit-out projects (CAT A, CAT B, Shell & Core).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple small works projects simultaneously.
- Solid commercial awareness and confidence managing budgets, variations and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage subcontractors.
- Comfortable working in a structured, high-standards environment with clear processes and expectations.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid preferred.
