Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sussex Pathology Network Transformation Programme Team.

The role will provide project management leadership within the Sussex Pathology Network to support the delivery of the overall vision and objectives across the Network, will oversee designated projects across Sussex Pathology Network and will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and delivery of the projects. The postholder will play also play a key role in the ongoing development of the Programme and Network.

Main duties of the job

The postholder is expected to take a lead in stimulating and maintaining collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders across the local health and care system to help deliver effective communications across organisational boundaries and to deliver the designated projects, that span across organisations. This will include liaison with clinical, operational, corporate and external teams.

The post holder will deliver the project on time, to budget and to agreed quality standards, supporting customer business needs.

The post holder will be expected to manage multistranded projects using PRINCE2 methodology, demonstrating excellent risk management and financial control throughout. The role requires a professional project management approach that involves managing the project team and coordinating all project activities in accordance with the customer needs, supplier capability and local or national standards and requirements.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
  • Track record of delivering to PRINCE 2 methodology
  • PRINCE 2 Foundation Certified
  • Documented CPD to Masters Degree or equivalent level

  • APMP Introduction

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Relevant experience working in a health or local government setting; good understanding of NHS decisionmaking procedures.
  • Understanding of challenges around the national and local drivers for change.
  • Experience of successfully implementing change in a complex multi organisational environment with a wide range of stakeholders and professional groups.
  • Delivering complex projects with Board level engagement
  • Management and delivery of reports at Board level including financial analysis
  • Communicating complex information to audiences who have no knowledge of the area

  • Ability to work collaboratively across a wide range of organisational and cultural boundaries, maintaining a clear sense of objectives and purpose

  • Advanced IT and keyboard skills for data manipulation, report production and analysis in a variety of programmes

  • Ability to travel independently between sites in an efficient and timely manner
