Salary: £57,200.00 + depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:

Leading and overseeing Research and Development projects from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring alignment with objectives, budgets, and timelines

Offering leadership and guidance, utilising Project Management best practices to support and nurture a small team

Driving project progress as a key member of the Project Management team, ensuring successful outcomes

Supervising implementation activities, tracking progress, and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance

Supporting team development by reviewing work quality and offering mentoring and coaching

Managing project budgets and resources to ensure the successful delivery of both team and project objectives
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
-
Solid foundation in technical project management skills with extensive knowledge of project management
-
Professional Project Management qualification or demonstrable experience gained through application of Project Management

Awareness of commercial practices within a project environment
-
Proven ability in effectively engaging and influencing a wide range of stakeholders

Confident managing and motivating a team with previous demonstrated leadership experience
Desirable:

Awareness of Life Cycle Management

As part of BAE Systems Platforms and Services sector, Weapon Systems (UK) designs, develops, manufactures and supports artillery systems, naval guns, and provides engineering capability to the wider BAE Systems business. As a Research and Development Project Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, working closely with senior leadership and gaining invaluable insight into the broader business strategy. This role places you in a pivotal position, directly influencing the direction of our flagship R&D programme and playing a key role in shaping the company’s future.
You’ll be responsible for turning high-level strategic goals into actionable, results-driven plans, ensuring that innovation and forward-thinking remain at the heart of everything we do.
