Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead and oversee system upgrade projects. In this role you will focus on implementing and upgrading common, industry-standard systems to ensure business operations run efficiently. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing similar projects and excel in stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage system upgrade projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors, to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate regular project meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination among all project participants.
- Manage project documentation, including project charters, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field
- An additional course or certification in Business Consulting, Project management (waterfall, agile)
- Additional Technical Certifications: Scrum Master, PMP, Prince2
Essential skills
- Experience in project management, with a focus on IT projects and system upgrades.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, system integration, and infrastructure migration.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello).
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Experience
- Experience as project manager, project manager, scrum master, scrum coach, or delivery lead.
- Experience delivering diverse and large-scale projects in a large enterprise-scale environment.
- Experience working with technical teams, architecture, and 3rd party suppliers/providers.
- Project management lifecycle
- Applying problem-solving methodologies and tools to diagnose and solving problems
- Providing technical guidance to enable others and solving technical queries from junior colleagues
- Using project management tools, tracking plans and actual statistics from inception through to implementation
