Bouygues UK has an exciting opportunity available for a Project Manager to work within our Building Safety Team on some exciting refurbishment projects in the South West region.
Job Purpose & Scope:
To be responsible for the economic safe management of the site in respect of progress, workmanship, health, safety, environmental and quality standards by ensuring that adequate and proper labour, plant, materials and sub-contractor resources are available and adequately directed to meet the requirements of the contract.
Accountabilities & Key Tasks:
- Manage client and end users.
- Develop, agree, and deliver build programme.
- Set build sequence.
- Procure suitable supply chain.
- Build team.
- Manage technical assessments.
- Agree scope of works.
- Ensure high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality within site operations, delivering a high-value, safe project for the client.
- Lead by example to maintain consistent, high standards in all working relationships.
- Collaborate with commercial and buying teams to safeguard the company's commercial and contractual interests.
- Work across disciplines (Surveying, Design Management, Buying, Planning, HR, HSE) to effectively manage contracts.
- Plan, organise, control, and coordinate the project to a satisfactory and safe completion.
- Implement and develop the Project Management Plan as outlined in the Project Management Manual.
- Ensure works commence only after agreed Risk Assessments, Task Safety Plans, and Method Statements are issued and agreed.
- Provide necessary reports and maintain site records.
- Monitor and supervise subordinate site staff to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Establish systems and procedures for defect-free project completion and total client satisfaction.
- Oversee the project's financial performance in collaboration with the Quantity Surveyor.
- Identify and address problems promptly.
- Conduct comprehensive post-completion reviews, providing feedback to relevant disciplines within the company.
Essential & Desirable Criteria:
Essential
- Relevant construction qualifications and experience
- Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor
- Willingness to deliver in a refurb environment
- Good communicator
- Attention to H&S matters and quality standards
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work.
- Innovative and able to identify and implement new ways to do things to achieve better ways of working.
- Has technical knowledge and is profit minded.
Desirable
- Cost Control experience
- MCIOB or similar chartership
