Project Manager - Commercial Tech

Your Role: We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven Project Manager to be responsible for the delivery of commercial technology and digital advertising projects within The Sun, The Times and Broadcasting Wireless portfolio. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to implement features and improvements that align with commercial strategies. Your team: Digital Operations and Commercial Technology is a thriving team focused on the ongoing maintenance, protection and growth of digital advertising. We are continuously improving and building on our commercial capabilities through experimentation and innovative technology.
Day to day you will:
- Lead end-to-end delivery for all commercial technology projects and features based on priority and business value
- Work closely with product managers and business analysts to ensure roadmap items are clearly articulated and sufficiently detailed for developers to deliver against.
- Use Agile techniques to transform complex, high-level business proposals into a roadmap with a clear, accurately estimated release plan
- Monitor and report project status, progress, blockers and changes to stakeholders
- Managing team dependencies through influence, collaboration and organisation with other technology programmes, third parties and key stakeholders
- Use metrics effectively to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in teams' processes, and to capture the effectiveness of changes
- Application of Agile approaches to build a collaborative, cross-functional team delivering value to the business and meeting commercial objectives
- Anticipate and identify project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Act as key point of contact for live incidents and manage escalations (if needed)
- Manage the release process and communications
What we're looking for from you:
- Experience in a project management role, with a track record of technical achievement.
- Significant and demonstrable experience in leading complex digital projects in a fast moving environment.
- Strong, proactive communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Versatility in facilitation approaches (including facilitating from the sidelines) to foster greater collaboration between colleagues
- Commercial or advertising knowledge and experience is a significant benefit.
- Eager and quick to learn.
This position is 10 month fixed term contract. We offer a flexible working arrangement where employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days per week. For the remaining two days, there is the option to work remotely if desired.
