The Project Manager's main responsibility is to deliver business initiatives for 5's OTT Platform. The Project Manager will also be responsible for maintaining the relationship with one of our key external development vendors. This vendor is responsible for the development of 5 on Connected TV and Set Top Boxes (STB)

The ideal candidate will have experience of leading multi-discipline teams from a wider variety of business areas including Product, engineering, architecture growth, distribution, legal and marketing. They will be able to negotiate and influence senior leaders to drive decision making.

What will you be doing?

  • Launch My5 on UK connected TVs and game consoles
  • Lead internal project to expand 5's product capabilities and support for new digital content offering
  • Roll-out and evolve A/B testing capabilities across CTV platforms
  • Support agency project management team in delivering product features across key CTV platforms
  • Facilitate project level ceremonies including working groups, refinement sessions and steering committees
  • Proactively track and report on project initiatives in planning tool
  • Identify risks and impediments that affect project scope
  • Handle dependencies within and across teams both internal and external
  • Collaborate with other delivery partners to co-ordinate activities across multiple technology teams, from inception to delivery
  • Assist in fine-tuning process for cross-team communication and governance and where necessary establish new processes to support effective delivery
  • Lead documentation in a single repository and support Director of Technical Analysis with using Asana tools
  • Act as main point of contact for project management relationship with platform distribution partners (Sky, Youview, EveryoneTV, Playstation)
  • Be an excellent partner and lead service from associated vendors (5+)
  • Mediate and secure clear steering directives from project sponsors
  • Management of Purchase Orders and ongoing budget for projects they are responsible for
  • Be autonomous - Independently run activities and resolve conflict within associated teams with minimal influence from management; work efficiently with all levels of management and employees
  • Effortlessly sift through "noise" and facilitate discussions and team activities with a laser focus towards results
  • Scan external environment for standard processes and collaborate with team(s) to implement where applicable
  • Leverage advanced project management skills to identify process gaps and introduce innovative ways that increase predictability and quality
  • Ability to implement governance processes related to software delivery including planning and refinement ceremonies
  • Help define the goals for the UK Programme & delivery team

What we are looking for

  • Extensive experience in program/project management in a well-established, high-performing software development environment
  • Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks and software engineering practices, as well as traditional project management approaches
  • Ability to understand technologies applicable to streaming and Video On Demand
  • Comfortable and experienced in leading business and technology teams in vetting technical options and proposing evidence-based recommendations.
  • Superb written and verbal communications, presentation skills, and meeting facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of how to collaborate with 3rd parties to track forecast and actual costs associated to work requests
  • Confident engaging with distribution partners such as EveryoneTV, Youview, Sky
  • Experience in delivering technology to support FAST channels
  • Background in a media technology and ad tech environment
  • Digital and linear media technologies including video delivery, ad delivery, user authentication, content management systems, mobile applications, web sites, connected TVs and how they integrate with existing technologies
  • Partnership knowledge of technical and business management, department heads, product management, QA engineers, and other technology professionals
  • Experience leading multi-functional resources and vendors
  • Experience producing reporting material for senior leadership steering committees.
