Our Stronger Start Commissioning Team is going from strength to strength and leading on some major transformation projects alongside our Children's Services colleagues. With a recent expansion to our work programme, we need to grow our team and are looking for exceptional candidates to help us achieve our ambitions. As Project Manager you will lead both strategic and project work as prioritised within the Strong Start work programme giving the ideal candidate the opportunity and experience to develop a wide range of skills.

The role:

Project Manager; Grade 11; £45,291 to £51,989 per annum (Pay Aware Pending)

Fixed Term to March 2026.

Main Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Manage review and redesign projects / programmes across a broad range of children's needs including; SEN, Disabilities, Family Support, Care Leavers, Advocacy etc ensuring safe and effective delivery in line with agreed outcomes and the Council's Medium Term Financial Strategy.
  • Build effective stakeholder relationships across the Brough ensuring integrated planning activities such as needs analysis, contracts, service specifications, performance management frameworks, and quality assurance deliver effective support services to our children young people and their families.
  • Work as part of a skilled team to ensure commissioning activity is high quality, effective and transformative, delivering the right support at the right time and delivering value for money.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  • Experience of managing multiple complex projects / programmes within a local government and/or health setting
  • Experience in commissioning services that improve outcomes for Children and Young People.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management approaches that ensure the effective and safe delivery of projects/programmes of change.
  • The ability to develop excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, taking a collaborative approach to delivering the very best.
  • A willingness to further develop your skills in leading transformation and change activity that changes the way we deliver services to our Children and Young People.
