Project Manager / Business Analyst

*Please note, this is a 3 month fixed term contract*

Location:

Colwyn House, Head Office, Colchester.

**Hybrid working available**

Salary:

£60,000- £66,000 per annum (pro-rata)

Senior Business Analyst

Main Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager / Business Analyst to join our busy IT and operations team at our Head Office. Reporting to the Senior Business Analyst, the primary project focus will be supporting the delivery and implementation of a new technology solution for our Lettings business, as well as other key business projects. This encompasses point-of-sale needs, property management requirements, and back-office client accounting.

You will work proactively with internal and external stakeholders to elicit, communicate, and validate requirements to determine the most appropriate solutions, considering factors such as existing practice, business process, and sector trends to provide real business value. This is a new and exciting position suitable for an ambitious individual with a deep understanding of successful IT program delivery, which potential candidates must demonstrate.

The ideal candidate will be adept at managing demanding workloads, priorities, and stakeholders across a footprint that covers most of England and South Wales.

Activities/Main Duties:

  • Create, optimize, and drive schedules and project plans across cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Advise on the timeline and dependencies required for the implementation, including clear breakdowns.
  • Identify potential risks and mitigate them, providing governance mechanisms for the organization.
  • Gather and manage requirements and undertake detailed business and systems process analysis to fully understand requirements.
  • Facilitate collaboration across the project team to ensure the impact of any solution is fully considered and addressed.
  • Work closely with various stakeholders from the business, technical teams, and third parties to ensure proposed solutions are fully understood and signed off.
  • Provide analysis input to support project issues and ensure all are tracked and reported in a timely manner.
  • Participate in project planning, team meetings, reviews, release planning, demonstrations, and other meetings as required.
  • Produce quality products to specification, on time, and within budget.
  • Seek opportunities to improve project processes and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and working with operational teams to implement changes as needed.

Candidates will also need to have:

  • The ability to quickly assimilate business knowledge and logically interpret it.
  • Excellent analytical skills: the ability to view a problem from different angles, formulate recommendations, and support any chosen solution with a reasoned and persuasive argument.
  • Excellent communication skills; explain complex business problems to a wide audience and have demonstrable experience in writing requirements specifications.
  • The ability to assess project tasks and risks and allocate work to team members.
  • Manage project schedules and timelines, check quality, and monitor progress against the timeline, ensuring the progress of the project is maintained.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of five years' experience in Project Management and/or Business Analysis with references.
  • Experience or knowledge of the letting property process and/or Financial Services mortgage lending would be an advantage.
  • A good working knowledge of analysis and design techniques with experience in business process identification, modelling, and documentation.
  • Experience with project management software to plan and monitor work would be an advantage.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
