About the role

You will work on London Street Overbridge Structural Repair Project, focusing on repairing and strengthening a listed structure in the iconic London Paddington Railway station.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure that expenditures are in line with the budget and that resources are utilised efficiently to maintain cost control.
  • Develop, implement, review, and periodically update resource-loaded schedules.
  • Ensure assurance activities (audits) are undertaken and take appropriate action based on findings.
  • Be accountable for KPIs in alignment with project objectives and monitor performance.
  • Manage subcontractors.
  • Ensure procurement plans are available in line with the overall project plans so that materials/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Develop high-performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent, and assist with internal training by supporting, guiding, motivating, and empowering the team.
  • Take responsibility for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees, and the supply chain. Ensure that reports provide relevant information to enable informed, cost-effective decisions in line with the overall strategy.

Who we're looking for

  • Formal qualification (BEng/MEng/BSc/MSc) in engineering/management/construction or experience equivalent.
  • Proven experience in project management within the Rail industry.
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery.
  • Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts.
  • Experience in implementing safe systems of work.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation.
  • Effective team management skills which empower, influence & inspire others to build effective teams. Providing mentoring and support to members of the team where required
  • Commercially astute
  • Able to undertake work in high pressure situations.
  • Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • Member of a professional management body i.e. APM, ICE
  • Proficient on O365
