Project Managers to work within our newly formed Change Service at Lancashire County Council.

We have an exciting opportunity for a number of experienced Project Managers to join our brand-new Portfolio and Programme Team, within our newly establish Change Service. They will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the organisations strategic change portfolio of programmes and projects. We're looking for dynamic individuals to deliver council wide priority projects. This is a huge opportunity to shape success and set the stage for impactful change. Within Lancashire County Council, you'll be the instrumental in that success.

What we are looking for...

The Project Manager will take responsibility for planning and managing all aspects of the delivery of allocated projects that will significantly affect the organisation. They will work with project managers within strategic programmes on a range of independent projects managing a project team; and will delegate work to external contractors / suppliers/ consultants to ensure deliverables are met.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of projects within defined financial targets; and must have developed the appropriate communication skills with a sound ability to negotiate internally and externally in stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrable experience and capability in the delivery of projects requiring the creation of large project teams with multiple elements on a cross discipline and/or multi supplier basis.

Demonstrable experience and understanding of concepts, procedures and application of project management methodologies.

Scopes, plans, manages, and delivers strategic and more complex projects that will significantly affect the organisation, and which will deliver strategic benefits.

Establishes robust governance through project boards to mitigate potential significant risk to the business and/or external stakeholders

Delivers projects to agreed Change Service standards whilst maintaining and developing customer satisfaction.

Can operate in a high-pressure portfolio management environment providing high quality reporting to strategic board level.

Has operated within a programme environment as a project manager delivering required outputs and a contribution to programme outcomes.

Must have proven ability stakeholder management skills able to build strong relationships at SRO and senior management level.
