About The Role

Project management

  • Manage defined projects from initiation to completion ensuring that they are managed according to the Brewdog project management approach
  • Ensure clear and structured project governance is in place
  • Report and escalate using project governance structure as required
  • Identify and resolve project issues and risks running a proper risk management process throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Developing project scopes and deliverables involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure that project deliverables and scope are met on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets ensuring any slippage to programme or budget is reported, investigated and mitigated as far as possible
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s)
  • Coordinate site activities across inspections, installation, commissioning, ramp up and close out
  • Source and manage all site-based deliveries, shipments and hire equipment
  • Prepare detailed installation reports for all on-site activities and recommended actions
  • Measure project performance through project review and lessons learned sessions
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Ensure appropriate handover to the operational teams ensuring training is completed. Documented handover is in place giving control of installation to operational teams with defined remaining actions for the project to close out

Cross functional team

  • Lead and coordinate the activities of the project team.
  • Define resource needs for projects and ensure resource availability and allocation against an agreed plan with a defined project team in place
  • Coach the team where required ensuring they are clear on what is expected of them and have the support they need to meet these expectations
  • Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects
  • Maintain effective communication with project team ensuring everyone is clear on project progress and issues;
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure smooth operations and processes;
  • Ensure training plans are in place as part of the delivery of the project and that operational teams are set up for success
  • Engage with operational teams to get buy in for the project and to keep them updated on progress
  • Ensure clear channels of communication within the project team
  • Drive a collaborative working culture with other departments and encourages openness and approachability
  • Work with other departments to ensure smooth running of projects
  • Make decisions based on what is best for the total operation and not just for projects
  • Establishes contacts and relationships outside their own team to share resources and actively develop beyond a confined area, with the intention of generating a common focus to support business outcomes

Health & Safety

  • Ensure all site rules and health & safety standards are observed both by the project team and external parties
  • Identify safety issues, escalating where appropriate, and ensuring good communication between relevant teams.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a proactive approach to health and safety and providing a safe work environment for yourself and others, challenging unsafe conditions and providing solutions where possible.
  • Lead the investigation of safety incidents and near misses related to the project ensuring that they are completed and corrective and preventative measures are implemented to avoid a reoccurrence
  • Identify areas for improvement and drive these improvements to improve the safety standards on our site.
  • Ensure the correct safety procedures are followed with regards to contractor management and safe systems of work
  • Ensure risk assessments are in place at design stage and regularly updated throughout the project as new information/understanding comes to light

quality

  • Identify quality and food safety issues, escalating where appropriate, and ensuring good communication between relevant teams.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a proactive approach to quality and providing a food safe work environment.
  • Lead the investigation of quality incidents and product holds related to project work ensuring that they are completed and corrective and preventative measures are implemented to avoid a reoccurrence
  • Ensure risk assessments are in place at design stage and regularly updated throughout the project as new information/understanding comes to light. Ensure any updates to HACCP or technical documentation are completed as part of the project.
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained to a high standard and cleaning plans are completed as required
  • Identify areas for improvement and drive these improvements to improve the quality standards on our site.
  • Ensure the correct quality procedures are followed with regards to contractor management and on-site installation and commissioning

Environment & sustainability

  • Identify environmental issues, escalating where appropriate, and ensuring good communication between relevant teams.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a proactive approach to environment and sustainability.
  • Lead the investigation of environmental incidents related to project work ensuring that they are completed and corrective and preventative measures are implemented to avoid a reoccurrence
  • Ensure correct waste segregation from all project work

Output & cost

  • Ensure business case is in place for each project and is regularly updated throughout the project flagging any changes to benefit case of a project
  • Ensure project budget is created and actively managed throughout a project to deliver the project on budget
  • Ensure timely raising of PO's and payment of invoices ensuring all internal processes are followed
  • Take accountability for identifying areas to reduce cost without impact on scope or with impact on scope with sign off from the business owners

External parties

  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors supporting the delivery of projects
  • Ensure effective communication is in place for all third parties and act as the focal point for interaction between Brewdog and 3 rd party vendors
  • Ensure that an agreed procurement method is followed for the identification and appointment of third parties ensuring we are only working with approved 3 rd parties where a contractual arrangement is in place
  • Work alongside procurement to ensure the contract is managed through the full project process and that suppliers are performing in line with expectations. Where required take action alongside procurement to drive supplier performance
  • Carry out pre-delivery inspections to identify potential issues and how to overcome these
  • Coordinate third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

About You

The candidate will hold a qualification in Engineering or related field with 5+ years demonstrable experience in Project Management.

Consideration will be given to candidates with a SVQ Level 3 qualification, 10+ years relevant industry experience and 5+ years experience in Project Management.

Candidate will live and breath the Brewdog mission and charter ensuring you team understand it, live up to it and champion it internally and externally
