Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to lead and oversee a complex construction and infrastructure project within the airside and landside environments of a busy international airport. The role requires a strong understanding of aviation operations, regulatory compliance, and construction delivery in live, operational airport settings.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the project within operational airport environments (airside and landside).
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality assurance to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Liaise with airport authorities, airlines, stakeholders, and contractors to coordinate works and minimise operational disruption.
- Ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations, security protocols, and health & safety standards.
- Oversee procurement, contract negotiation, and management of design consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare and deliver project progress reports, risk registers, and stakeholder presentations.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, planning, and operations teams to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor and manage project risks, issues, and change controls.
- Champion sustainability, digital construction tools (e.g. BIM), and innovation within project delivery.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's or Chartered status preferred).
- 10+ years' experience in construction/project management, including 5+ years in a senior role.
- Proven experience managing complex projects in live operational environments, preferably within aviation or transport infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of health & safety, CDM regulations, and airport operational procedures.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage high-pressure situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, or other project management tools.
Due to the project location all successful candidates will be required to complete a DBS check and additional pre-employment checks, with the ability to obtain Airside Passes.
