Job Description

The Interchange and Pricing Strategy (IPS) Programs & Operations Manager supports the Interchange and Pricing Strategy function in Europe. Responsibilities of this role include the management and development of key strategic fee programs applicable to traditional and new payment flows as well as the supporting complex interchange and pricing projects including changes to Visa's internal processing systems.

This role will be recognized as a subject matter expert providing support and direction to internal and external stakeholders on fee programs and operational interchange matters such as processing logic and fee corrections. The position requires the ability to extract and analyze large amount of data to perform multiple operational, monitoring and compliance activities, in addition to the delivery of systems changes necessary to support and grow the payment ecosystem.

The ideal candidate must be a data driven analytical and structured thinker, with proven ability to synthesize large amount of information for the benefit of varied audiences. The incumbent will work with many different stakeholders and teams including client facing teams, systems architecture and development teams and finance teams. The IPS Program & Implementation Manager will report to the IPS Implementation Director, and will be based at Visa's offices in London, United Kingdom.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage all aspects of interchange fee programs including client communications, merchant eligibility assessment and onboarding as well as performance tracking.
  • Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement and lead programs compliance activities.
  • Proficiently execute simple to complex data extraction, manipulation and modelling tasks to support programs management and operations activities.
  • Support the production and provision of MI and relevant operational dashboard to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support re-balances / retrospective manual adjustments and resolution of interchange fee compliance cases.
  • Translate strategic changes into technical requirements by preparing business requirements for interchange and pricing fee system changes, providing end-to-end support for fee changes including business acceptance testing and post implementation reviews.
  • Review technical designs, testing documents and user acceptance logs to ensure business requirements are met and projects are implemented successfully.
  • Use analytical and problem-solving skills to manage internal and external queries in a timely manner.
  • Manage client facing communications, including writing client notifications, producing and maintaining technical documentation, working with technical writers as needed.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to translate complex business needs into practical technical solutions, with experience within a transaction processing environment being ideal.
  • Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to identify business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to synthesize and organize projects/data/information.
  • Ability to extract large volumes of multifaceted data using SQL/HQL with experience of the Hadoop eco-system, including Hive and Impala.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to assess urgency whilst maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Experience in dealing with complex issues, including the ability to source and analyze information from numerous sources and apply suitable solutions.
  • Demonstrable ability in different programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Understanding of Payments and Banking Industry is an advantage but not required.
