Programme / Project Director, Hub North

Aberdeen

We are looking for a Programme or Project Director to be employed by Galliford Try Investments (our main private sector investor) seconded to Hub North Scotland Ltd.

The post-holder will be employed by Galliford Try Investments and seconded full-time into Hub North. Hub North is a public-private sector partnership company established to develop, fund and deliver community infrastructure projects such as schools, healthcare facilities and other public buildings. It works directly as a Development Partner for Councils, Health Boards and Emergency Services across the North East, Highlands, the Islands and Argyll & Bute.

Ideally you will be based in or around Aberdeen and will have the opportunity to travel to multiple Projects in the Region.

What you will be doing:

  • Work with Clients and SFT to understand and scope out the required outcomes of identified and potential Hub projects
  • Identify appropriate and affordable funding solutions.
  • Support translation of local and national policies into business cases and development plans, including place, net zero, inclusive economic growth, digital and any other arising new policies as they emerge.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies and establish teams as required.
  • Assess the key risks associated with proposed developments and ensure that these are mitigated or that provision is made to accommodate those risks.
  • Support and promote the implementation of the North Infrastructure Commission.
  • Provide leadership to project teams to ensure successful delivery over a full range of projects and programmes from initial inception through to on-site delivery

It will be essential for the post-holder to establish close and strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. These include (but are not limited to); Clients, Hub North Scotland Board members and colleagues, Territory Programme Director, Scottish Futures Trust, Private Sector investment partners, Other Hub companies and Supply chain partners.

This is a results focussed role and will concentrate on the following; Delivery to Financial Close of viable projects, contribution towards the achievement of Hub North's aim to be "the Clients' Development partner of choice", promotion of and development of the company's project "pipeline".

About You:

  • An understanding of public sector processes and the ability to coordinate Hub activities with those requirements.
  • Ability to manage innovation within a highly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with the preparation of business cases and project bidding.

About the Team

The Investments team works across the Galliford Try group assembling, funding and managing investments that help secure major public infrastructure changes throughout the UK. Working with the wider construction and Facilities Management businesses within Galliford Try, Investments is involved in schemes from one-off Private Rental developments, to major PFI programmes and infrastructure projects. Our expertise in working with a variety of funding models and separate regulatory regimes means we are able to devise and secure the right solution for each client.
