About us:

This role sits within the Faculty Education Services in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine (FoLSM) at our London Bridge campus: www.kcl.ac.uk/schools/index-new.aspx

This role forms part of the busy Programme, Placement & Assessment Team within Faculty Education Services in the Faculty of Life, Sciences and Medicine. The programme team supports students and academics across multiple professionally regulated programmes.

About the role:

This highly operational role has responsibility for managing a team of Programme Officers and Senior Programme Officers, providing operational oversight for the programme administration from enrolment through to graduation and professional registration for students.

Candidates must have the ability to work closely with a number of stakeholders including academic and clinical colleagues across placement sites. The role holder is expected to maintain up to date knowledge of programme and university regulations and provide accurate guidance to colleagues and students as required.

This is a full time role (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite term contract.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria:

  1. Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrable ability to present information clearly, accurately and concisely to diverse audiences
  2. Ability to organise, delegate and plan effectively across competing priorities
  3. Excellent attention to detail with methodical, exacting standards of written and numerical accuracy
  4. Able to manage and motivate a successful team; delivering objectives, managing performance whilst enabling development and succession planning
  5. Ability to make timely informed decisions and independently resolve problems
  6. Ability to form professional networks and contribute positively to implementing change
  7. Able to negotiate and influence across organisational boundaries to deliver a timely positive outcome diplomatically
  8. Demonstrative enthusiasm, drive and initiative; adopts a proactive approach

Desirable criteria:

  1. Evidence of continued professional training or development
  2. Previous HE experience; with an emphasis on managing across professional and/or health programmes
  3. Experience of programme governance and delivering professional committee servicing
