Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other , foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most .

Connect to your opportunity

As a Programme Manager within our Employee Relations team, you will play a key role in delivering a best-in-class, risk-based, and commercially focused ER service. Working closely with HR Business Partners, legal counsel, and business leaders, you will help to deliver across a diverse portfolio of projects and programmes, ensuring their successful execution and alignment with our overall ER strategy.

This role offers a unique opportunity to further develop your expertise in project and programme management across the full range of ER domains (org change, policy development and complex case management) while also contributing to the ongoing transformation of our ER service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility will be to provide project and programme management support across the full ER projects portfolio (e.g. case management, org change incl. TUPE, policy and ER continuous improvement initiatives).
  • This resource will therefore need to be prepared to be deployed flexibly across these types of projects. Furthermore, the resource may need to be prepared to be deployed in either a project management or programme management capacity (or sometimes both) depending upon business need:
    • Project management: defining and managing a detailed task plan for the delivery of a specific solution (e.g. a people change process for a specific business area).
    • Programme management: defining and sitting across a high level plan for multiple workstreams and holding these workstreams to account based upon agreed milestones linked to key deliverables / business outcomes (e.g. multiple people change processes for multiple business areas).
  • In either capacity, will be expected to:
    • Operate as a project and programme management SME, who is responsible for designing and operating appropriate levels of governance and structure to drive forward successful delivery in line with business case scope.
    • Lead, support, and hold project team members to account on executing project and programme deliverables.
    • Monitor project and programme progress and evaluate their success to ensure that planned outcomes and associated business benefits have been achieved, and continually seek opportunities for innovation and improvement.
    • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across a matrixed organisation to ensure effective and transparent project and programme governance such as management of project and programme status, SteerCo escalations, risks, issues, dependencies, benefits and key decisions.
    • Produce accurate and timely project and programme reporting as required for key business stakeholders such as HRLT, Monthly and Quarterly Business Review (MBR/QBR) forums .
    • Use project and programme metrics to support risk and issue management and business insights to drive solution development and continuous improvement.
    • Demonstrate a sense of shared collective ownership around the overall ER team's success, looking for opportunities to help the wider team where possible, and actively contributing towards a positive team culture.
  • In either capacity, will not be expected to:
    • Provide ER subject matter expertise, as this will come from the ER Leads (T4s) and ER Partners (T2's).
    • Provide TUPE SME expertise for M&A activity (including bidding stage)
    • Provide general administrative or analytical support on activities that typically sit outside the domain of project and programme management (e.g. overseeing scheduling of employee facing consultation meetings, managing inbound employee communications mailboxes, extracting and manipulating people data etc).

Connect to your skills and professional experience

You are a collaborative problem-solver. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You are adept at building strong relationships and influencing outcomes. You are passionate about continuous improvement and bring a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to your work.

Essential:

  • Significant experience of project, programme and change management, delivering on time and on budget.
  • Experience specifically with leading people-centred projects
  • Proven ability to build and maintain successful relationships with multiple stakeholders including colleagues and peers across the HR function.
  • Experience of monitoring and maintaining project and programme budgets, with ability to forecast costs and adjust as required.
  • Experience of leading project teams providing support during all points of the project lifecycle.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and matrixed environment.

Desirable:

  • Proven ability to apply a broad range of project, programme and change delivery methodologies, waterfall, hybrid and agile.
  • An experienced HR professional who has experience of working in a professional services environment or alternatively a fast-paced demanding HR role, with some experience of ER case management and managing end to end organisational change programmes such as restructuring delivery would be beneficial.
  • An understanding in the development and implementing of ER policies would beneficial.
  • Experience with HR technology: Specific HR applications, of which SAP and ServiceNow are preferable and used for data analysis, reporting, and managing ER cases.
