What you'll do

The Data & Analytics (D&A) team leads the design and delivery of the overall UK Data Strategy on behalf of Vodafone UK. This team is the driving force in maximising incremental value from data through the design & delivery of 'Valuable', 'Accessible' & 'Trusted' data. Now is a really exciting time to join D&A as we begin our data transformation journey to implement this agreed data strategy working across all of Vodafone UK.

The Programme Manager - Data Analytics role will work to cohesively across different sub-teams within D&A to holistically manage programme and function related activity. The role holder will lead initiatives, budgets and communications across the team to provide holistic project management for the D&A Team. The role holder will also champion the D&A strategy across wider data teams within the organisation, working to drive and harness the initial demand, engagement and POCs with these teams.

The role requires a self driven and high initiative project/programme professional with strong delivery skills. The role holder will have experience of managing Data & Analytics related projects/programmes, excellent capability of data story telling, strategic planning and stakeholder management. Key accountabilities include:

  • Managing project/programme related financial activity including budget, forecasts and actuals tracking and reporting across financial years. Also managing all 9+15, budgeting and headcount management for D&A.
  • Closely partner with the project/programme managers within wider teams to consolidate a D&A view and build for comms on achievements, budgets, spend and backlog. Identify opportunities to strengthen team engagement and drive efficiency and effectiveness across sub teams. Drive forward the D&A comms in the wider organisation.
  • Actively engage with data teams within the organisation, champion the D&A data strategy identifying opportunities for improvement, lead POCs to prove value where required, bridge these into the D&A teams as needed for effective coordination & integration and continually grow the data strategy impact.
  • To build leading edge D&A teams, facilitate development and innovation in the team including hackathons & firebreaks, external industry & competitor insights. Showcase achievements for awards and recognition across Vodafone and Data community.
  • Actively support the Head of Data & Analytics with inputs into the overall data strategy, team vision, team engagement, team effectiveness & efficiencies and impact into the wider organisation.

Who you are

  • Strong project/programme management professional, with excellent delivery skills. Alongside those core skills, you will have experience of working with Data & Analytics team from a project/programme perspective.
  • Complemented with a strong commercial mindset on the value that data can deliver for the organisation. Proven ability to capture, analyse and organise large volumes of demand and visualising and communicating data models to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent data story telling capabilities, supported with strong written and verbal communication skills. Experienced in engaging with senior leaders and confidently presenting to them, adapting to their skills and ambitions.
  • Strong influence and relationship building with informal networks across the team and the wider organisation. High emotional quotient and resilience of removing blockers and working with various type of stakeholders, adapting to difficult or challenging experiences through behavioural flexibility and adjustment to external and internal demands.
  • Strong cross functional end to end technical project or program delivery experience. Experience with delivery frameworks (e.g. Waterfall/Agile) and methodologies (e.g. Prince2/ SAFe).
