Programme Manager, 6 month fixed term contract

Kennedys is seeking a Programme Manager, on a 6 month fixed term contract, who will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring they are aligned with the firm's strategic business objectives and delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Programme Manager will oversee efforts across different teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and optimise resources to drive successful outcomes. This role involves strategic planning, risk management, and ensuring programme objectives are met while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
Team
The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is a global function that is responsible for the firm-wide governance and delivery of programmes and projects, working closely with other business services functions. The PMO portfolio of work is broad and includes business & digital transformation, process improvements and technology implementations often working with a third-party supplier or solution provider.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement programme objectives, strategies, and roadmaps in alignment with business goals
- Oversee multiple related projects, ensuring cross-team alignment and synergy
- Identify potential risks and issues that could impact programme delivery
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their needs are addressed
- Manage programme budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and resource optimisation
- Develop and maintain programme performance dashboards, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
Required experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Strong knowledge of project & programme management methodologies (MSP, PRINCE2 and/or APM Practitioner, AgilePM)
- 10+ years of experience in programme management, project management, or a related role*
- Proven experience managing large, complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders across multiple regions
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritise competing demands
- Experience with budgeting, financial tracking, and resource allocation
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity
- Proficient in project management tools (e.g. Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Trello)
