Drive strategic, high-impact delivery across a complex digital product landscape
We're looking for an exceptional Agile Delivery Lead to own end-to-end delivery governance across a major Product Area / Agile Release Train (ART). This is a senior leadership role blending programme-level strategy, financial stewardship, and multi-squad orchestration with modern Agile delivery practices.
You will be accountable for outcomes, benefits realisation, investment planning, and predictable flow of value across multiple cross-functional teams. Operating at the intersection of business strategy and technology execution, you'll influence senior executives, partner with Architecture and Engineering, and lead a high-performing delivery community.
If you thrive in complex environments, lead with clarity, and know how to turn strategy into measurable value - this is your stage.
What you'll lead & deliver
1. Strategic Outcomes, Roadmaps & Investment
- Own product-area outcomes and ensure clear traceability from business objectives to technology delivery.
- Shape annual and quarterly investment cases, including cost, resource, risk and dependency inputs.
- Partner with Product, Architecture and Finance to align PI/portfolio priorities to strategic goals.
2. Planning & End-to-End Delivery Governance
- Coordinate PI/quarterly planning across multiple squads, consolidating features, risks and capacity.
- Run governance that accelerates decision-making and ensures compliance with organisational standards.
- Maintain real-time visibility of flow, dependencies and commitments.
3. Cross-Squad Risks, Dependencies & Sequencing
- Lead Scrum-of-Scrums / PO Sync to manage sequencing and unblock cross-team delivery.
- Operate structured impediment and risk escalation pathways.
- Ensure alignment of objectives and delivery feasibility across all teams.
4. Financial & Commercial Accountability
- Own £10m+ budgets, including forecasting, EAC tracking and benefit realisation.
- Work with Procurement & Legal to secure commercial value and ensure supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, cyber, data protection and technical standards.
5. Stakeholder Leadership & Executive Reporting
- Influence senior business and technology leaders to drive fast, informed decisions.
- Produce concise, executive-ready reporting on progress, risks, predictability and outcomes.
- Champion customer-centric delivery and articulate impacts and trade-offs clearly.
6. People Leadership & Capability Development
- Line-manage Delivery Owners; recruit, develop and retain top delivery talent.
- Build psychologically safe, high-performing teams through coaching and continuous improvement.
- Lead systemic retrospectives to improve flow, quality and cross-team collaboration.
7. Collaboration with Architecture, Engineering & Service
- Partner across Architecture, Engineering, QA, Service, Cyber and Data to assure design and delivery viability.
- Drive improvements in engineering and delivery maturity across the product area.
What you bring
- Proven leadership of large-scale Agile delivery across multiple squads or ARTs.
- Experience managing £10m+ budgets and complex commercial landscapes.
- Strong stakeholder influence at senior/executive level.
- Deep understanding of Agile delivery, flow optimisation and scaled governance.
- Ability to lead through ambiguity, simplify complexity and drive measurable outcomes.
- A coaching-led leadership style that builds capability and empowers teams.
Why join us?
- Lead delivery for a strategically critical product area with real organisational impact.
- Work with talented teams across Architecture, Engineering, Service and Cyber.
- Shape delivery culture, capability and ways of working at scale.
- Hybrid working, excellent benefits and a culture that values empowerment and innovation.
If you're a delivery leader who blends strategic thinking with hands-on orchestration - and you want to shape outcomes at scale - we'd love to hear from you.
