Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Post graduate diploma Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience
  • Supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses within an specialist field or equivalent

Desirable criteria

  • Management qualification and evidence of continued professional development
  • Diploma in Health Screening or equivalent City and Guilds

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Management experience and knowledge within screening services, healthcare or other people/patient focused services
  • Demonstrate evidence of sound financial/staff management.
  • Experience of staff management including line management, developing potential (PDP) and performance management.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of the role of corporate services, eg Estates, Facilities and IT
  • Evidence of managing change
  • Specialist project management knowledge

Desirable criteria

  • Experience within an Diabetic Eye Screening Programme.
  • Business planning and development

Skills

Essential criteria

  • Proven ability to obtain and consistently achieve results and targets.
  • Proven ability to deal with wide range of data and information and take appropriate decisions from it.
  • A proven ability to come up with flexible and creative solutions to difficult problems
  • Excellent collaborative working skills and able to build strong relationships with clinical leaders and professional staff groups
  • Proven ability to influence change in those groups
  • Prove ability of leading change through people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - ability to negotiate, influence in difficult and contentious situations
  • A strong commitment to openness, honesty and inclusiveness.

IT

Essential criteria

  • Working knowledge of MS Office for typing, amending and proof reading documents.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Excel

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Sound knowledge base of the NHS, the current issues, its values and principles of timely local access for the population
  • Must be a car driver with a valid manual driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance in order to travel throughout the Trust, to meet the needs of the service

Desirable criteria

  • Across a broad range of service/subject areas

Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
