We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to join the team of the Milton Keynes business unit (BU) a Term Services Contract (TSC). The role will predominately be based on the Milton Keynes TSC, however there may be a requirement to travel between the operational depots.

The principal role of the Programme Manager will be to manage and monitor the Client Service Requirements Plan (CSRP) and the Contractors Plan to ensure we can book road space well in advance to deliver a more efficient service and enable utility companies to work more collaboratively with us; and that our operations deliver efficiency and best value for Milton Keynes City Council.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Contractors Plan (CP), developed from Milton Keynes City Council CSRP / Annual Budget Plan, is embedded as a 'living' document, underpinning both our programming and delivery of services. These jointly developed programmes of work will maximise opportunities for ECI, combining works and reducing costs, thereby optimising and improving network performance for all users
  • Formally reviewing the CP with the Council at the monthly programme meetings
  • To direct resources of people, vehicle, plant, materials, sub-contractors and premises, in order to achieve the aims and objectives of the local business plan
  • To ensure that operations are carried out in a commercially astute manner to ensure best value for the client
  • Financial control including annual and periodic budgets and forecasting is maintained and reporting on the operational and financial aspects of the contract at periodic management reviews
  • Compliance to the companies policies and procedures
  • Effective planning & programming to ensure service delivery
  • To accept and carry out any reasonable task as requested by a member of management
  • Attend and participate in Team Briefings

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience of assisting in building a programme of works within the sector
  • Delivering and Coordinating the programme
  • Highways Experience
  • Prince 2 and Knowledge of NEC Contracts
  • String stakeholder managements
    Experience of delivering £multimillion programmes
