About the role
We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our other Programme Managers to manage the successful delivery of a range of projects that provide cutting edge analysis and case studies of the value and impact of design.
You are a brilliant project or programme manager with a background in product and / or service design. You have delivered projects with a sustainability focus and have been involved in developing new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Effectively managing client relationships and the generation of business development from existing clients.
- Supporting senior colleagues in developing relationships with new clients.
- Supporting senior colleagues scope and develop potential new demonstrator projects with new clients.
- Managing demonstrator projects and ensuring outputs are achieved to the highest creative standard and within budget.
- Contributing to the Learning & Development programme, sharing knowledge and upskilling colleagues.
- Effectively capturing knowledge by producing case studies and sharing these with colleagues.
- Working with senior colleagues to ensure team quality, financial and other targets are all achieved.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
Expert Knowledge and Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of worked experience in the creative industries: design, client management and project leadership.
- A strategic thinker with a background in Product and / or Service design.
- Proven track record in supporting relationship building and winning work with new clients.
- Experience of independently managing and growing direct client relationships, identifying and converting growth opportunities.
- Ability to create high quality proposals, presentations and other outputs with minimal required support.
- Direct delivery of projects which used design frameworks or design skills to improve products and services, address a business challenge and/or upskill participants. delivering strong outcomes for all parties.
- Proven excellent project management, including resource planning, people management and communication.
- Ability to work in an agile environment, to be proactive and fast-paced while always ensuring results are achieved.
- Ability to be diplomatic, able to act with confidence and integrity in all situations while influencing others.
- Passionate about how design improves people's lives.
Corporate responsibilities
- Proactively identify and manage risks and financial controls in relation to the Design Council and your specific area of responsibility
- Comply with the Design Council's operational policies and procedures including financial and risk management, project management and evaluation processes, brand guidelines, GDPR, information security and internal health and safety policy.
