About the job

A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish - working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

A new era of regulation is significantly impacting our company's technologies, products, and functions. These fragmented, and sometimes disparate, regulatory requirements also present an exciting and testing opportunity for our team and the company as a whole.

As a Program Manager in Regulatory Governance, you will provide critical support and expertise across Trust and Safety to influence external parties for more effective regulation. You will understand the potential impact of new regulations on Trust and Safety teams and processes, and offer Trust and Safety leadership early visibility on emerging regulations and regulatory themes. Additionally, you will manage programs for implementing key changes related to new compliance obligations, working in close partnership with Trust and Safety operational teams and Legal partners to achieve continuous compliance with regulatory obligations through durable, efficient, and audit-ready processes and controls.

At Google we work hard to earn our users' trust every day. Trust and Safety is Google's team of abuse fighting and user trust experts working daily to make the internet a safer place. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google's products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with teams across Global Affairs to ensure we have full visibility of the most important regulations impacting our business.
  • Deliver updates to Trust and Safety leadership on key emerging regulations and regulatory themes.
  • Programs manage specific regulations or obligations, working across a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage forums across Trust and Safety to share information and drive effective decision-making on upcoming regulations.
  • Work with Legal and Policy teams to ensure that Trust and Safety equities are represented in external conversations so that operational realities help to inform future regulations.
