Medical Communications
About the role
Our Program Directors (PDs) are strategic partners to our pharmaceutical/biotechnology clients, leading creation and implementation of high-quality, innovative, strategic medical communication and education programs. Our PDs are focussed on organic growth of their client accounts, generating leads and play leading roles in business pitches when required. They are also responsible for leading account teams in delivery of programs, are people-focussed, and enjoy line management and mentoring staff to support their growth.
Your responsibilities
- Strategic consultancy for clients, leading creation and implementation of high-quality, innovative, strategic medical communication and education programs
- Leadership of medical communications account team(s) in delivery of high-quality projects/programs
- Drive organic growth of assigned client accounts through identifying and acting on opportunities for new business
- Ensure consistent high-quality delivery of programs
- Drive the development of innovative products and services within assigned accounts and share experience with colleagues
- Line management and mentoring of staff, supporting their growth in the business
- Provide a stimulating learning environment of on-the-job training for line reports / account team members
- Take a lead role in internal proposal/pitch brainstorming and development
- Financial reporting and forecasting for assigned accounts, and achievement of financial goals

Requirements, skills, and qualifications for this role
- Strong leadership and people development skills
- Creative flair
- Proven consultancy skills and ability to develop strong, novel strategic plans
- Proven experience in leading strategic medical communications/education accounts, including omnichannel approaches to creating impactful programmes
- A strong interest in communication and/or education best practices
- Publication planning experience is a plus
- Experience working with Pharma Medical Affairs and/or Marketing groups a strong plus
- Experience in leading matrix teams
- Strong, confident communication skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
